Vice Chair
Interested in helping to drive and make a difference to netball in our county, then why not come and be our vice chair.
In the role you will
✔ Support the efficient running of the county
✔ Help others to understand their roles and responsibilities
✔ Promote the opportunities available to individuals (whether players, officials or volunteers) across the county
✔Be a passionate advocate of netball
Support the Chair in guiding the County in planning and providing a strategic vision to grow
the game.
✔ Represent the county at local and National level
Competition Working Group Members
We are looking for individuals to join the group who are responsible for providing competition opportunities to junior and senior members.
Tasks include
✔Provide match day support at Tournaments
✔ Provide admin support of various competitions (ensure teams submit the correct paperwork
✔ Carry out checks to ensure that all individuals taking part in competition are members of EN
✔ Proactively work with partners to identify suitable venues for competition to take place (whether indoor or outdoor)
Umpire Working Group Members
We are looking for individuals to join the group who are responsible for allocating umpires to various competitions offered via the county as well as supporting the development of umpires, through mentoring
As a member of the group, you may
✔ Provide mentoring support to individuals during their umpiring journey
✔ Allocate umpires to junior competition (both leagues and tournaments)
✔ Encourage individuals to get involved in umpiring across various competition
✔ Promote England Netball umpiring courses
Youth Advisory Group (under 25's)
We are looking for one individual (or maybe 2) to join our committee to undertake the following activities:
✔Attend committee meetings and provide the views of
junior players.
✔Liaise with junior team captains/members to gain the
views of junior members on issues for discussion at
committee meetings.
✔Listen to the concerns, suggestions and feedback of young people and collate their
feedback to help improve their netball experience within the county.
✔ Champion the importance of developing young leaders.
✔ To help build stronger links between the County and the young people in the community.
Volunteer Coordinator
This is a new role and we see the individual in role undertaking the following
✔ Act as the main point of contact for volunteers and
volunteering within the county
✔ Help to identify the volunteer needed within the county to support the group of SY activity
✔ Recruit new volunteers
✔ Ensure that volunteers receive feedback and support as well as having opportunities to CPD
✔ Ensure that the county has systems in place to recognise and
reward volunteer contribution
Website Officer
We have recently taken steps to update our website, we are now looking to recruit someone to support the maintenance of the site and help keep the information and content up to date, relevant and informative to our members.
The role of the website officer will be
✔ Oversee the development of the
website
✔ Ensure the website is regularly updated and that
information is accurate
Inclusive & Diversity Officer
This is a new role we are looking to create to join the SYCNA committee.
The role will
✔ To support England Netball’s diversity and engagement objectives by directly targeting the
promotion of netball to a diverse audience to encourage netball participation and event attendance
to grow and diversify England Netball’s sphere of influence.
✔ Support the county in the creation and implementation of an ED&I strategy and provide strategic
vision on diversity and inclusion activities.
✔ Support and encourage greater participation from under-represented and minority groups across the county
✔ Provide support and guidance on promoting equality, diversity and inclusivity to t members, clubs and leagues where appropriate.
