Umpire Mentoring Programme

The SYCNA mentoring programme has been designed to support our new and experienced umpires with their continued development on their officiating journey.

Once a trainee umpire has completed their Into Officiating or C Award course a mentor is allocated. Aside from regularly observing trainee umpires during matches they are on hand to offer advise, support and constructive feedback. This ensures that individuals are able to develop, effectively meet the specified criteria and progress to successfully gaining their C Award qualification and beyond.

With a clear pathway the intention is to encourage more people to take up the whistle and rule book.

The sport needs more umpires and it is crucial that trainee and experienced umpires feel supported along the way.
